BUILD Youth's Cuba Mission Trip Report and VIDEO

Cuba

Hey Church,

Wow, wow, wow! What an amazing summer we just had here at Build: Youth Ministries!! From Camp on Catalina, waterpark trips, Amazing Food, Deep Conversations, Opening Scripture wherever we went, and our amazing Mission Trip to Cuba... this truly was a God ordained incredible summer. There were sooooo many amazing moments and amazing stories that happened during the summer months but I want to take some time to focus in our Cuba Trip.
It's been almost 3 months since we arrived in Cuba and a lot has happened to that Country since we have returned. There have been numerous openings and closures of the country. There is espionage happening at the US Embassy and Hurricane Irma devastated parts of the island, specifically the parts where we were working with the local church. The church we partnered with had extreme flooding and the roof ripped off. Even though those things happened they are still having multiple worship services daily inside of their sanctuary and are currently rebuilding. They praise God that only "stuff" was damaged. They had no loss of life in their town and this disaster brought everyone closer together.
I know when we were in Cuba and at the local church in which we were serving, they were the ones who were truly serving us. It blew our minds the hospitality we received in Cuba. Our students lives were changed for the better and they were invited not to just "be a part of a worship service" they were invited to "be a part of peoples lives through worship and serving". I wishI could tell you the hundreds of amazing stories that happened on the mission trip... but that would take days. So please come find me or one of the youths and ask us, "What was the most impactful part of the mission trip?" I do have some great news though... Tiare O'herlihy [10th Grade Female Student from Malibu High School] made an amazing wrap up video of the trip. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this student made video!
Thank You Church!
